Susan St. John’s practice focuses on health law, tax law, business planning, and civil trial law. She also assists health care professionals with asset protection and estate planning. Her practice includes the following: mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures of physician practices and other health care businesses; licensing and representation before the Department of Health, various practice Boards (e.g., Board of Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Podiatric Medicine, Nursing), and the Agency for Health Care Administration; and, representation before the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. She has advised clients in Certificate of Need preparation and has litigated challenges for preliminarily approved or denied Certificates of Need. She regularly undertakes preparation, negotiation, and review of physician agreements, including employment agreements and shareholder agreements, practice management agreements, lease agreements, and settlement agreements.
Ms. St. John has represented clients the Boards of Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Podiatric Medicine, and Nursing, the Agency for Health Care Administration, the Florida Department of Revenue, the IRS, and Florida courts, including the First District Court of Appeals, and the Division for Administrative Hearings. She serves a wide range of health care-related practitioners and entities such as:

Ms. St. John graduated from the University of Florida (B.S. Accounting), the Florida State University College of Law (J.D.), and University of Florida Levin College of Law (LLM Taxation). Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. St. John was a former Medicare auditor and health care financial consultant for a big-four accounting firm.
